Courier Corp. of Hawaii’s (CCH) success story is a classic case of, "If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em." Founded in 1991 by the late Bill Aspengren, the door-to-door delivery company merged with Mainland Express, a Honolulu-based courier service, in 1998.
"Bill had been trying to buy my company since 1994," says Nick Smallwood, the former owner of Mainland Express. "Every time he’d go out and try to look for new business, he’d hit roadblocks when he’d run into our loyal customers."
